Don't call it preference....

I have decided I don't like the term "sexual preference."

The term implies some kind of choice is being made. Like I prefer chocolate ice cream, but I have been known to eat vanilla or strawberry or butter pecan from time to time. My preference for ice cream is a preference.

Man sex is another matter however. Under no circumstances could I ever see myself involved with a woman sexually, not even for the slightest moment. Even after drinking that six-pack of beer that supposedly can tilt the straight guys our way.

I haven't really come up with a better way to describe it, but I'm working on it.

I never had liked of used sexual preference. Sometimes I say sexual orientation, but I just prefer saying I'm gay. and leave it at that. I do have preferences under the homosexual orientation column.

Hear-hear SFHB! "Sexual preference" indeed....like, before I was born I made a conscious choice: "I'll be a human!" That might be closer to the truth, I suppose, but as for my post birth "choices" I have been and will always be 200% Gay.

How about: PROCLIVITY

natural or habitual inclination or tendency; propensity; predisposition: a proclivity to meticulousness.

works for me!
