I swear to God, every time I hear one of these haters talk, I get the feeling he's a big old closet case. This guy is the repuglican candidate for New Jersey Governor. And I can just picture him pulling some lingerie out of his closet, painting his nails, applying lipstick, and singing "I Feel Pretty" in the mirror.
Any chasers ever run into this guy at Convergence or EBMC?

You certainly are not alone in expressing your strong feelings about “I feel Pretty.” I too blow a fuse when I hear such nonsense. Maybe, I get upset because in away I remember being that closeted myself though never outwardly condemning of anyone.
I think that last year this time we were one with all you folks in California fighting for equal rights regarding Marriage Equality. I think that’s what makes me want to do my part this year to help educate people on the truths about human sexuality. California has earthquakes and the people there are use to rebuilding and know that it can be done because they have lived through the rebuilding. I think that last year California Prop 8 shook-up old ill-formed social and religious norms regarding LGBT people and the rest of the world watched, were educated and learned new ways of thinking about LGBT people, in a more positive and truer light. Now this year with places like Maine, people are ready to stand up LGBT people as well as many, many allies, including many people not from Maine to vote for Marriage Equality, like myself.
It has been proven that people hold on to arguments based on sound facts and logic. The arguments base on fear and ignorance begin to fade quickly in time, such as the one you posted. It is like rebuilding after an earthquake in San Francisco, buildings are built better to withstand future earthquakes. Marriage Equality is being built on strong human principles that everyone shares in common.
People against Marriage Equality do not base their public statements on facts either from science or the bible. The only position left for being against gay rights or gay marriage is for personal reasons. Any politician or public speaker needs to have had thoroughly examined his or hers personal sexual orientation and gender identity before speaking publicly. Because researchers have shown us that components of human sexuality are on continuums. This means that nearly everyone is a mixture of LGBT components to some degree, the variations on this are likely as complex as DNA.
Much of the fear about facing one’s sexual makeup is about the unknown and the pressure of ill-formed social and religious norms that generate and perpetuate the same. Education is the key to easing the dissociated anxiety and fear that one experiences by being in the closet. However, the worst thing to do is get in front of an audience and throw a childish tantrum of resistance over the irrational fears. What becomes plainly obvious to the audience is the person who is against gay rights has no substantiated facts to base his or her objections on. It is at this point that the hidden truth is revealed about the public speaker or politician.
The best thing to do for the well-being and safety of all children would be if people against Marriage Equality spent their money to academically study human sexuality, sexual orientation, gender identity and the bible. This is what children need the truth. People speaking out on such life and death issues should not speak out of ignorance and fear, thus spreading hatred and violence that indiscriminately is severely harmful to all children.
Marriage
It must be remembered that the importance and meaning of marriage is more than procreation. Two people pledging their love to each other is not just for themselves, because that is not a marriage. By being in love, two become one and they are better equip to be the best for everyone in world their families, friends, co-workers and beyond. In this way all marriages are contributing to the procreation of children by their enriching the social environment that children will be born into. I think that love; true love like energy is never lost, a bit like Einstein, maybe.
The truth will set us free - not ignorance and fear.

i keep seeing the attack ads between the two every night.
and my experience with being up here:
every guy i find attractive that i meet in NYC is from Jersey and a Republican.
the NY guys are so nelly or freaks.
the NJ guys are a lot more down to earth and "blue collar" type.
but MOST republicans I have met up here are fairly liberal socially. its not like GOP in Texas.
He is an exception, the right wing in NJ isnt as powerful as the liberal Nixonian type republicans.
I know some gays in the GOP here, i will find out if hes fam or not.
