Well this has been a very disappointing day. The California Supreme Court heard the Prop 8 case, and it is painfully obvious that they are most likely going to rule that Prop 8 is valid. The questions asked by the justices make it pretty clear they believe the voters have the right to take away the rights of gays and lesbians. The only good news of the day: it's pretty clear the justices will allow those 18,000 same-sex marriages performed last year to remain valid. Looks like the gay and lesbian community is about to get yet another butt-fucking, and not the good kind.

It is so strange that California, will mow have legally married same sex couples, but other who cannot be legally married. That is inequity among peers. How can the court allow this to happen. I hope that your state assembly will overturn Prop 8. If not, we must work to have another Proposition on the ballot asking for the overturn of Prop 8 and allowing same sex marriage. I'm sending money to Equality California as I have been throughout all of this mess. Only in the hopes that when California allows same sex marriage, then the dominoes will start to fall out way here in Kansas.
