Why can't Britney just get it over with and die? Or better yet, why won't the media treat her as the nobody she is and IGNORE her?????????

From AP:

LOS ANGELES - Britney Spears was taken from her home by ambulance early Thursday and escorted to the hospital by more than a dozen police officers in cars, on motorcycles and in helicopters.

When was the last time a nobody was escorted to a hospital by more than a dozen police in cars, motorcycles, and helicopter?

When asked by a throng of paparazzi and reporters whether Britney was doing all right, Lynne Spears replied, "Yeah," before leaving in a Range Rover.

When I had a piece of my colon taken out last year, I don't remember a throng of paparazzi waiting outside the hospital asking about me!!!!!

Hours earlier, shortly after 1 a.m., the motorcade that pulled away from Spears' residence was nearly the length of a football field. Along with the ambulance, it included police on nearly a dozen motorcycles and in two cruisers. Two police helicopters followed overhead.

The length of a football field? How many crimes were taking place in LA during the time all those cops were occupied with this worthless piece of shit?????

Ok, these comments were tongue in cheek. It's always sad to see someone spiraling down like that. And it seems like Britney used to be a sweet girl. Or at least that's the impression she gave. But I do object to all this media attention to someone who's celebrity has come and gone. She has contributed nothing that deserves the attention in a long time. Maybe if the media would quit treating her like Jackie Kennedy or something, this bizarre behavior would stop, and she could get her sanity back and get on with her life.

By the way Britney, Justin is not coming back!

One of the interesting things about living in California, if you follow politics, is that we don't have to wait for election results. It wasn't even 7:00PM when I walked in tonight, turned on the tv, and was informed that John McCain and Hillary Clinton had won the Florida primaries.

It appears more and more likely that Clinton and McClain will face each other in the national election. And I think that will make it an interesting race.

As a Democrat, I will obviously vote for Hillary. But, in all honesty, I don't hate McCain. Nothing like the visceral reaction I get from the likes of Bush and other Republicans. He reminds me of the pre-Reagan Republicans of old. Fiscally conservative, but moderate to left-leaning on many social issues. That's the kind of Republican I could vote for all things being equal.

I think it's interesting how all the pundits are debating how he must win the Republican base over. There has been much discussion on how the conservatives don't like him. By "conservative" they are, I assume, referring to the religious right-wing nuts. I think he should wear their disdain as a badge of honor. Being disliked by the wingnuts means he'll be more appealing to the general population.

Now, before you think I'm giving some glowing recommendation to McCain, I'm not. I disagree with him on many issues, most notably the war. I also disagree with his anti-choice views. But, he is the most agreeable of the Republican candidates. If he were in the White House, I wouldn't be worried about what a nut job he is. And a moderate Republican like McCain, combined with a Democratic-controlled Congress, would take us back to the shared powers that the founding fathers hoped for.

If McCain wins the nomination, I really hope he doesn't sell his soul like so many of his fellow Republicans have done over the years.

Just One More Year

I woke up this morning and realized it was January 20. So, one year from today, George W. Bush will leave office. While there is light at the end of the tunnel, I am still concerned. There's plenty of damage this guy can do in one year.

It will be good to have someone else occupying the office, hopefully Democratic, who can start repairing our country.

I really dislike false advertising. Especially when it comes to porn. I've recently come across a website called brokestraightboys.com. Honestly, the site has some pretty hot videos. And I have to admit, the idea of some hot 20-something straight guy giving up his ass cherry on camera in order to pay the rent gets an instant boner from me. However, I have to wonder. These guys may be broke. But are they straight? They just seem to enjoy it a little too much.
