OMG, this is 5 blocks from my house!

The Alameda High School Drama department is presenting The Laramie Project this weekend, Nov 13, 14, and 15. And guess who is supposed to be in attendance? Our old buddy Fred Phelps is possibly bringing his band of inbreds to Alameda to protest.

Of course, we Alameda gay guys are not standing for this. They have arranged a counter-protest in front of the school Friday night.

It is possible this may not happen. A spokesman for the Alameda PD says he's convinced that Phelps is going to pull his people away from Alameda so he'll have a bigger turnout at President-elect Obama's grandmother's funeral this weekend. Nevertheless, we should be prepared as the protest is still on Phelps' website.
