Give the guy a break!

The last time I checked, Inauguration Day is January 20, 2009. But you wouldn't know it by the way people are acting about President-elect Obama.

The press is acting like he's already the president. The NRA freaks are buying every gun they can find in the stores. The right wingers are proclaiming the end of American civilization. And the left wingers are pissed that he's appointing seasoned veterans, people with credentials, to his administration. Clintonistas.

The group raptureready.com has kicked their rapture clock to near midnight. They believe x-tians have voted in their last election. To paraphrase one of the writers, "I'm not saying he's the anti-Christ, but he could be." Of course, they followed that up with an appeal for funds. How typical. Why do you need funds if you're not going to be around?

Personally, I think he's just taking his time and finding the best and the brightest to join his administration. He's going to have a hell of a mess to clean up once he takes office.

I guess after 8 years of Bush, Americans aren't used to a thoughtful president who wants to do what's right for America, not what he thinks God has told him to do.
