The good news is that opposition to Prop 8 still holds the lead, although it is razor thin. The lead is also far less than earlier this year before the Mormon-led Yes On 8 campaign started spewing their lies about same-sex marriage.
The poll also shows how conflicted Californians are over the marriage issue. 65% agreed that "traditional marriage is a cornerstone of our Judeo-Christian heritage," but 61% agreed that Prop 8 "would deny one class of citizens the dignity and responsibility of marriage." 58% agreed that domestic partnership laws don't give same-sex couples "the same certainty and security that marriage laws provide."
Let's hope their better angels prevail on election day, and they will not feel right about taking away rights already established under the constitution.
This is going to be a tight one. Give what you can to No On 8. Every donation helps, no matter how small.
