Fuck You John McCain

Alright you Log Cabin Reguglicans, here's something else for you to ignore about your party, because, after all, you queens are not "one issue" voters.

According to the Advocate, John McCain told a gay rights group that gay soldiers "represent an intolerable risk to national security." Here's a piece of the story:

In an April 16 letter to the Servicemembers Legal Defense Network, McCain said, "I believe polarization of personnel and breakdown of unit effectiveness is too high a price to pay for well-intentioned but misguided efforts to elevate the interests of a minority of homosexual service members above those of their units.

"Most importantly, the national security of the United States, not to mention the lives of our men and women in uniform, are put at grave risk by policies detrimental to the good order and discipline which so distinguish America's armed services."

Fuck you John McCain. Talk to the Israelis about how having gay people serve in the military affects national security. Didn't they just do a big poll of the military last year about gay troops? And didn't something like 3/4 of those surveyed say they didn't give a shit if gay people served in the military?

The thing that really grinds my ass (pun intended) about the whole gays in the military thing is that every argument against it was used to support segregation in the military 50 years ago. Harry Truman had the balls to wipe segregation in the military out with the stroke of a pen. And guess what? The sky didn't fall. The sun came out the next day. And the military got over it. It will be the same way when the gay ban is eliminated, which is inevitable.

Now back to you Log Cabin Repuglicans. How can you support a party that hates you? We're not talking benign neglect here. We're talking outright hatred. I just don't get it. You queens say you aren't "one issue voters" but your freedoms, your rights, should be the ONLY ISSUE you're concerned about. How can you support a party that treats you like second class citizens at best???????

The sad part is with Repuglicans, you don't really know what they think. Because to be successful as a Repuglican, one has to sell one's soul. Maybe John McCain doesn't really believe that. Maybe he's just saying that to appeal to those whack job fundies who seem to control the Repuglicans.

Of course, if you don't like McCain, there's always Rudy

He seems like an acceptable Repuglican on the surface. He's pro-choice, He's pro-gay rights. But the problem is, THERE ARE NO ACCEPTABLE REPUGLICANS. Because if you support one, you support them all.

There is no way in hell Rudy will remain pro-choice and pro- gay rights publicly. He can't win the nomination if he does. He will sell his soul, mark my words.
